Empowered to be

Empowered to be

Hello, my name is Mario Hall I understand you may have many questions and might be unsure about where to start. You might be wondering which counsellor is right for you, or even if counselling is the right choice. But the fact that you're here means you're already taking a positive step. I hope exploring my site will help answer some of your queries.

I am a professional counsellor who works with you to explore blocks or struggles within your life. My approach is tailored to you and what you would like from your sessions. I provide online counselling or face to face counselling. My counselling room is quiet, warm, and private, with a parking space if required. This room will be your safe space, giving you the confidence to talk about personal, delicate topics that you would not ordinarily speak to someone else about, without judgment or prejudice.

I have studied and explored various modalities, including person-centred therapy, CBT, and Gestalt, among others. This has equipped me with the tools and knowledge to work effectively with people, recognizing that no two individuals are the same. I firmly believe that everyone should be treated equally and respected for their views and beliefs. At the heart of my practice, I listen with empathy and compassion, providing you with the time and space to talk and express your feelings. Rest assured, everything you share will be held in complete confidentiality apart from a couple of exceptions which you can find more information on this in my privacy policy section.

The right counsellor won't mind answering your questions and will be happy to help you, even if it's not they are not the right one for you. If you have any questions for me, feel free to drop me a message, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Yes, counsellors are registered with professional bodies that maintain national registers. These registers confirm that counsellors have met professional proficiency standards and are competent and safe. It's worth mentioning that the counselling industry is not regulated. However, counsellors like myself voluntarily register with reputable professional bodies, such as the BACP  British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy  (which I am registered with) or the NCPS NCPS | Counselling Matters. Feel free to visit their websites for more information about their ethical frameworks. Additionally, if you wish to make a complaint about a counsellor, there is a formal complaints procedure in place.

Empowered to Be offers personalized one-on-one or online services tailored to your specific needs using various therapy modalities. I listen with compassion and empathy, asking delicate and relevant questions to truly understand your thoughts and feelings from your perspective. Together, we can develop strategies and tools to help you confidently make difficult decisions now and in the future

Counseling modalities refer to different types of therapy designed to enhance a client's well-being. The choice of modality, or even a combination of modalities, depends on the specific issues the client is facing, such as trauma, grief, relationship challenges, or work-related stress.

In short, yes. In today's fast-paced world, many people face pressures related to relationships, finances, work, or grief. Often, they don't give themselves the time and space to observe their thoughts and feelings and accept that what they're experiencing is okay. Seeing a therapist allows you to create that time and space to address your thoughts and feelings. If you're still unsure, I invite you to watch this short clip to help you make up your mind   Psychotherapy

Who are you? You, are you, There is only one you, There will not be another you, To be the best version of you, you, need to embrace you, You are amazing, Believe in you, You can achieve amazing things, So who or what is stopping you, from being you?

Unlock Your Potential with Empowered to be

Men’s counselling.

Traditional ideas of masculinity, stoicism, emotional suppression, and self-reliance are outdated, yet still discourages men from seeking help. This reluctance contributes to rising rates of male suicide and addiction, as emotional pain often goes unaddressed.

To change this, I believe we need to reframe masculinity to embrace emotional honesty and vulnerability. Men’s counselling is not a luxury, i believe it’s essential. It helps prevent suicide, reduce addiction, and foster emotional wellbeing. Vulnerability isn’t weakness, it’s just being human. It’s how we heal, grow, and truly connect.

Fear, stress and anxiety

My face to face counselling or online counselling services are designed to help you overcome fear, stress, and anxiety. I provide a supportive and non-judgmental environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, gain insights into your behaviour, and develop strategies to to be empowered to manage your strong emotions that may be dictating your decisions.

Grief

Grief is a natural response to loss. Its like a wave that comes in strong and then gradually fades  over time. In counselling, we can provide a safe space for you to explore your feelings, process your loss and learn healthy coping mechanisms to manage your grief. It is also important to note, that grief is not just the death of a loved one, but loss can be separation, home, job, or a possession which was precious to you.

Walking therapy

Have you heard of walking therapy? It's like regular talk therapy, but you do it outside while walking. It's a great way to get some exercise and improve your mental health at the same time. There are many places we can go. By the sea, I have quiet woods not far from the practice. If you are interested contact me for more information.

Trauma

Trauma is like a heavy backpack we carry around after something upsetting or scary happens. Trauma can make us feel, anxious, sad, or even numb. Therapy is like getting help to take some of the weight out of the backpack, so it's not too heavy to carry around anymore. There are different types of trauma, so the more complex trauma we take out of the backpack, the more we may need looking into with more detail.

LGBTQIA+ Community

I have experience working with the LGBTQIA+ community and understand that being part of the LGBTQIA+ community can be tough, being different from the majority, wanting to tell or talk to someone for the first time about your feelings. Being part of the LGBTQIA+ community, you may experience discrimination or prejudice because of your sexual orientation or gender identity, This can lead to feelings of isolation, anxiety, or depression. Being part of the community, you may experience unique stressors related to your identity. For example, you may have to navigate societal expectations and norms that don't align with your gender or sexual orientation.

Anger Management

Anger is a normal human emotion and in some cases a healthy emotion. But it is important to understand how to manage it in a healthy way. In counselling, we can explore the root causes of your anger, develop healthy coping mechanisms and learn to communicate healthily.
